I agree with your description of the speakers. ![]() Click to expand.To avoid a possible point of confusion- OLA or original large advent, describes 'The Advent Loudspeaker' the first one NLA or new large advent, describes 'The New Advent Loudspeaker' an updated version - no masonite ring around the woofer, flush tweeter, improved crossover, etc. They will be hooked up to the 2385B or possibly my Marantz 2275 with my RP-3. They can be vintage/used (preferred) or new in the sub $1,000 category. What speaker would you recommend that is similar to the OLA's in terms of a good low end, nice soundstage and possibly a bit more detail. They have a nice low end, and can be a tad bright but they do especially well with good recordings. I just recently purchased a used pair of New Original Large Advent speakers, connected them to a Marantz 2285B and really enjoy them. ![]() ![]() Serial numbers are HH 107011 and HH 107023. The Large Advent Speaker sounded great, The ID on the back says Advent/1. All of the Marantz models with four digit model numbers such as the 2230 and the 1060. I just recently purchased a used pair of New Original Large Advent speakers. One of the speakers still has the serial number. This is a very nice pair of early vintage ADVENT Loudspeakers from 1969. ![]()
